Updated from MIT: Portage Diversion not operating currently, Fairford running at maximum discharge

The following information was shared with ALMS from Steve Topping, with MIT:

The Portage Diversion is not in operation at this time. We indicated in the February flood outlook that it was likely the Portage Diversion would be operated. It is uncertain as to what degree it will be operated at this time. The March outlook will give a better estimate of the duration and diversion volume.

The Fairford control structure will remain at maximum discharge through the spring flood. The February flood outlook indicated that Lake Manitoba would raise 3 tenths of a foot. A better estimate will be provided in the March flood outlook.

I am aware that the Portage Diversion outlet is being reinforced with riprap.

Hope this helps. I would be pleased to provide you an update after the March outlook.
